Faith is for the Unseen

Hello ,
On Sunday morning while I was having my bath, the song 'Evidence by Josh Baldwin' was playing, and these lines in the lyrics got me thinking;
I see the evidence of Your goodness
All over my life, all over my life
I see Your promises in fulfillment
All over my life, all over my life
Can I really say I see the evidence of God's goodness all around me right now? Am I really seeing the fulfillment of God's promises in Nigeria right now?
You know that it is very easy to say you see the evidence of God's goodness when you get a new job or promotion, when business is booming, you know, when there is a physical proof. But when nothing seems to be happening, when God seems to be silent, can you still sing those songs, or do you just wait for your own turn?
Then, while all these was going through my mind, Heb 11:1 came to mind; Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. (NIV) and it all makes sense.
It takes faith to dance in the storm, it takes seeing with the eyes of faith to see the evidence of God's goodness when there seems to be no outward proof. But that is what faith is; being sure God will uphold his promises even if there is no outward sign. If I can see it, then I don't need faith. I don't need to believe for what's right in front of me.
Remember Thomas who insisted on seeing and touching Jesus before he can believe He has truly risen. Jesus told him; "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."
Yes, I know it seems that God is silent. Someone asked me in a reply to my last email, she said "Why is God seemingly silent?" and to this I replied;
God is never silent to the happenings in the life of His people. We might not see what he is doing. We might not see his hand at work, but GOD IS ALWAYS UP TO SOMETHING. And because we know His character of love doesn’t waver, His promises are ever sure, we can rest in His hope knowing that it’s just a matter of time. We will see what He has been doing behind closed doors.
So, my friends, stand strong in faith. Don't judge the goodness of God by what you can see, judge by what you believe. Have faith.
Please feel free to forward this email to your friends, I am sure it will help someone.
With love,
Tolulope.
